Present studies show that digestarom improved the feed conversion rate in water fowl by about 0.4% and redued the fattening period. During the same fattening period, an increase in final weight by approximately 0.4% was indicated.
The statistics show is that with the use of digestarom juiciness and tenderness of the meat. At the same time, the proportion of value-adding cuts of meat of the carcass increased. The present data shows an overall increase of 0.6%, improvement in carcass yield of breast meat by 1.9% and the portion of the leg section by about 2.1%.
Next to these results there was clearly a reduction in animal losses.
